They See Their Dog Staring At Them Every Night At Bedtime But When They Realize Why? I’m In Tears…

Many of us have come to realize that adopting a dog is one of the best decisions we will ever make in our life. That being said, it can be difficult on everyone involved for the adjustment to take place when we bring a new dog into our home. They are unfamiliar with the surroundings and the people that they now have to deal with are confusing to them. It can be quite frightening.

Sometimes, the dog that we get from a pound may come from a rather traumatic background. This makes it even more understandable when they have a difficulty assimilating into our household. You can’t really expect that they will jump right into the situation as if everything is fine. If you know the back story of the dog before you adopt them, you can learn a lot about what to do for them.

When this family adopted a new dog from the animal shelter, he seemed to have a lot of love in his heart for the family. One thing that they didn’t do, however, is to learn about the dog and what took place in his life prior to the time that he came to the shelter before they adopted him. They absolutely loved the dog and they wanted to share their life with him but they should have learned more about him before he was adopted.

Every day, the would take him for a walk, play with him and give him lots of love. There was something strange, however, when they went to bed at night. The dog would sit at the bedside and stare at them until they fell asleep. When they woke up in the morning, he would still be sitting there staring.

They couldn’t understand why he didn’t seem to sleep so they took him to the veterinarian. They were hoping that there was something that would explain the behavior but, thankfully, there was nothing physically wrong with the dog.

Although they realized the dog was healthy, they still knew there was something wrong. That is when they went to visit the shelter where the dog came from. They asked about the back story and to see if they had a reason why the dog displayed this odd behavior. That’s when they learned the heartbreaking news.

The previous dog owner waited for the dog to fall asleep and then sedated him. After doing so, he took him to the animal shelter and left him. When he woke up, his owner was gone.

The family was moved by the story and they went home to move the doggie bed right up next to theirs. They wanted to show this dog that he was in a forever home and he could sleep all he wanted without worrying.

From that day forward, the dog slept in the room with them and they lived together happily. Personally, we couldn’t be happier for this dog.
