There are many subjects in school that we might appreciate in each of us probably has our own particular likes and dislikes as far as school is concerned. For some people, it is a matter of enjoying English and wanting to master every bit of the language in a scholastic way. Other people may appreciate science or perhaps history, but there is a subject that many people consider to be their favorite, and that is math.
Most of us can think back to math when we were young and it was a very logical subject to master. We could look at numbers in their pure form and it really was just a matter of knowing the basics and then expanding on that knowledge in some way to take math to the next level. Math is no longer the same.
Today, many parents and students are very flustered over the fact that the new math has taken over. At times, it just doesn’t make sense but there are still some types of math that are going to be what could be considered “old school.” That is especially the case when it comes to showing exactly how we came to the answer. We are often asked to show the math so that the teacher knows that we did not just use a calculator to come up with the correct answer. That is where this picture comes in.
They sometimes say that the picture is worth 1000 words but I think that this really overshoots the mark. The little boy may only be six years old, but he has a rather remarkable way of getting his point across. Let’s just hope that the mother saves this picture so that she can share it with him when he gets older.
