9-Year-Old Applies For A NASA Job. Just Wait Till You See How They Respond

Take a moment to think back to when you were a child. More than likely, you had some dreams and if there is one thing that is true about almost any child, it is the fact that they dream big. This is especially true when they think about what they want to be when they grow up. For some, it may be a bit out of their reach but the fact that they set those lofty goals proves that we all had our dreams in life.

A 9-year-old boy named Jack Davis also had a dream, and that was to work for NASA. He had seen almost all of the space and alien movies he could possibly see and he is also great at video games. Since Jack is young, in his own words, he can also think like an alien as well. That is why young Jack decided to apply for a job at the NASA space agency as a “Planetary Protection Officer.”

Admittedly, young Jack is not the only little boy that is ever dreamed about working for NASA. I have to admit that many of the young boys I went to school with were also dreaming about spending life in space or working on something important, such as interplanetary rockets. Jack took things to the next level, however, because he actually applied to NASA and after his family posted it on Reddit, it went viral.

Because of the viral nature of that letter, it caught the eye of the planetary science division. The director of that division ended up posting a perfect response for Jack on Twitter: “It’s about protecting Earth from tiny microbes when we bring back samples from the Moon, asteroids and Mars. It’s also about protecting other planets and moons from our germs as we responsibly explore the Solar System.”

We hope that this will encourage Jack and other youngsters to continue reaching for the stars.
