Most of us realize that children have a way of saying things that are just downright adorable. It is true of our own children and we may often see it in other kids as well. In fact, they even have had entire television series dedicated to that simple fact, and they have been the source of much amusement.
From time to time, however, we hear about children who are not only cute, what they say makes us stop and think. That is the case with the two children in this photograph. When you take a look at the picture, you are going to see that there is an obvious difference between the two of them. The funny thing is, what is obvious to us as adults is not always obvious to young children. In fact, they are completely oblivious to the differences, which led to the funniest situation.
The boy on the left is Jax, and he is only 5 years old. He was about to go in for a haircut and the reason why is enough to make you cry. He wanted to look just like his friend, Reddy, because he wanted to fool the teacher so she couldn’t tell them apart.
She wrote:
“This morning Jax and I were discussing his wild hair. I told him that he needed a haircut this weekend. He said that he wanted his head shaved really short so he could look like his friend Reddy. He said he couldn’t wait to go to school on Monday with his hair like Reddy’s so that his teacher wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. He thought it would be so hilarious to confuse his teacher with the same haircut.”
The mother said that Jax didn’t see that he was different from his friend, even though he is white and his friend is black. This child is obviously setting an example for all of us, who often see what is on the surface.
“If this isn’t proof that hate and prejudice is something that is taught I don’t know what is,” Rosebush wrote. “The only difference Jax sees in the two of them is their hair.”
Jax got his haircut and his mother posted it online. Here is what they look like now.
This is so cute! I just hope they are able to stay friends for the rest of their lives. Even if they move apart, they will still have the best story to pass on.
