Boy Goes In For Surgery. Wakes Later To Discover Doctors Did Something Without His Parents’ Knowledge

Surgery can be an experience that is quite frightening for anyone. When you are a young child, however, it seems to be especially frightening. After all, you don’t exactly know what is going on and not only do you have to be away from those that you love, you also recognize that there is likely going to be some issues involved as well.

When you are a little child who is going in for surgery, the world around you can be a very big place. Fortunately, there are some individuals who tend to make this difficult situation a little bit lighter for those who find that they are facing an operation. Not only do those individuals help make things a little bit better for the children, it also helps to put the parent’s mind at ease as well.

That was the case for one little boy who underwent an operation at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Like many children, he didn’t enter into the operating room on his own but rather, he took one of his close friends with him. I’m talking about his stuffed toy, something that many children hang on to when times get tough. It was what took place while they were in the operating room, however, that really had everybody talking. As it turned out, it wasn’t the first time that the doctor had done it.

“Oh my goodness!! It must have been him who stitched up my son’s pillow pet monkey while we were there to see Dr. Groth last month!! He went in with duct tape on him (because stuffing was falling out and this mama doesn’t know how to sew!). I noticed when we got home that the monkey was stitched up!! Thank you so much, Dr. Groth!! That really meant a lot that you took the time to go the extra mile!!”

Another parent added the following:

“When my daughter was at children’s for getting her broken leg set. Her stuffed animal also came out with a cast on his leg.”

This doctor is so sweet. Imagine having your best friend going through the same thing that you are going through.

As it turns out, his talents don’t stop with surgery. He even knows how to operate an x-ray machine and checked in on Elmo when he wasn’t feeling as ticklish as what he should.

“Yup they did an x-ray on Elmo…( yes this was ten years ago…with actual FILM! LOL) and we still have it!”

Perhaps the doctor was able to discover the source of Elmo’s giggle.

Holly Decker Lamb took her daughter in for a cochlear ear surgery.

“My daughter had cochlear implant surgery and so did her cat!!!! Loved Childrens”

These surgical makeovers are quite fantastic and we have to tip our hat to Dr. Groth for being creative and caring for children in the best way he can.

The cookie monster was not immune to his trip into the operating room.

“My daughter had brain surgery and so did Cookie Monster.”

You have to wonder if he is still eating cookies.

Dr. Groth may have a medical degree but you can tell that he also understands a lot about what is in a child’s heart.

Be sure to share this with your friends.
