A 3-Year-Old Girl Found Her 2-Week-Old Brother Not Breathing But Her Quick Thinking Saved Him

Little children have remarkable capabilities and at times, it could even show itself in unusual ways. To be honest, most of us don’t give our children the credit that they deserve and, even though they may do childish things, they still have abilities hiding underneath the surface that can come to the fore when they are needed. That was the case with this little girl.

Although she is only three years old, she is being considered a hero after she saved the life of her little brother. This three-year-old, from Texas, ran in and told her family that her baby brother had stopped breathing. She didn’t delay or think about the situation, she ran in and alerted her family to the fact that her brother needed help. It was her quick thinking and actions that allowed her brother to be saved.

In the little girl’s words, it “scared her to death” but she can be happy with the fact that her quick actions were able to save her little brother. He was only two weeks old and it appears as if this condition is not all that uncommon. He was taken to the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont after the incident take place. They feel as if reflux was to blame for the little boy not breathing. If she hadn’t have been concerned about her brother, he may have suffocated.

According to the staff at the hospital, reflux is a fairly common problem among newborns. It happens when food comes up from the stomach and if it comes up too high into the esophagus, it can keep them from breathing. If the young child had not received medical care, it is possible that he could have suffocated.

The parents played their part in running their young son to the hospital, where he gasped for air. They are giving all of the credit, however, to his big sister. It looks like he has more than a big sister now, he has a hero.
