Dad’s Girlfriend Gives Scrubs To His Daughter But The Mom Posts A Powerful Facebook Message

All of us start out in marriage thinking that things are going to go well for us from that point forward. Unfortunately, the statistics show otherwise. Almost half of those who get married are going to end up divorced and this number just seems to be getting worse. It is a strain on everyone, including the spouses and the children.

When many people find themselves in this type of situation, they often feel as if lashing out at their ex-spouse is the only way to deal with it. This has added even more stress on an already stressful situation and even the children are affected in a negative way. Things even seem to go from bad to worse when one of the people in the divorce begin dating again.

From time to time, we hear about a divorced couple who really get along and are happy for each other when things move on. That is the case with this story. It is about a divorced mom who is dealing with her ex-husband starting to date again in the most positive way possible. It allows her to deal with the situation and at the same time, it is healthy for her daughter as well.

This post comes from Brittney Johnson. She found herself divorced with a daughter from the marriage. The daughter’s name is Payton. Recently, Brittney went on facebook and gave a shout out to a most unexpected individual, her ex-husband’s new girlfriend, Kayla.

“To all of the mothers out there who throw a fit when another woman treats your child as her own: why isn’t that exactly what you want?”

That statement is likely to turn a few heads. Let’s look it is in the proper p respective. Holding onto an old grudge is bad for everyone, including the person holding the grudge.

“I prayed one night for the type of woman my daughter’s father would be with, knowing that she would be raised in two homes. Kayla has been a gift of so much more than I could have hoped for.”

Kayla is a nursing student who works hard. Payton sees her every day working toward the goal and she is a considerate and loving individual.

“… I’m raising a strong girl, a smart girl and a sweet girl. And I want nothing more than for her to be surrounded with role models who are exactly that. Thank you Kayla for showing Payton how to chase her dreams, how to work hard and stay up late to study for a test. Thank you for still making time to ride her bike with her and make her mac and cheese even in one of the stressful times of your life.”

Kayla recently gave Payton a scrub costume so the two of them could play together. This is something that could make a mother proud.

“You’re a true role model and an amazing bonus mom and we are so proud of you!”

Brittney gave some powerful parting words of advice. She asks something of all parents who are in a similar situation:

“If you’re co-parenting, and seeing your child doing things like this doesn’t bring a smile to your face, reconsider what’s truly best for your child. Payton has more people to love her this way, and what more could a mother ever want for her child? Being best friends with me AND being best friends with Kayla, is exactly where P deserves to be. It takes a village, and I happen to love mine.”
