You Aren’t Looking At A Roller Coaster, This Is A Bridge In Japan

What type of ride do you enjoy when you go to the amusement park? For many of us, there is nothing quite like a roller coaster. It’s the feeling of dropping out of the sky as the coaster takes you for a ride that just thrills us to no end. In fact, people will go to great lengths, just to try out a bigger or better coaster.

Of course, there are many people who also prefer to keep both feet solidly on the ground. They might like some excitement in their lives, but that doesn’t mean they want to put their lives in danger, just to enjoy a thrill. That might be what those people are thinking when they see pictures of this bridge. It might not be a roller coaster but you would have a hard time convincing everyone of that fact.

This bridge is the Eshima Ohashi bridge in japan. It is some 1.7 km long and 11.2 m wide, and it spans the distance between the cities of Sakaiminato and Matsue. When you look at this bridge, you might instantly have thoughts of being on a roller coaster, as it is perhaps one of the most frightening stretches of road on the face of the Earth. Would you want to go for a ride on this bridge?

It is the 3rd largest rigid frame bridge in the world.

When you look at it from a distance, it looks impossible to climb.

It looks like the cars should just slide right back down again. It climbs to such a height so large ships can pass underneath.

The bridge might look like an amusement park ride but it is actually quite safe. The look has more to do with perspective. If you ride on it, it is just like a normal bridge, but one with a steep incline.
