There’s an old saying that you should never work with animals or children in show business. This isn’t because they don’t sometimes have talent but it is because they can be somewhat unpredictable in nature. In some cases, it may be necessary to break this cardinal rule but as you are about to see in this unique and hilarious video, there are also times when animals should never be included and for a very good reason. After all, the video shows a rogue chicken running around on wet cement and it is the funniest thing we have seen all day.
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you see a chicken? Most of us don’t really give them much thought and we may just think of them as an animal that scratches the ground, eats a little corn and lays eggs. That may be true but if you have spent any time around chickens on a farm, you realize that they can also be rather interesting animals. There is also a reason why people are referred to as being a ‘chicken’ when they are frightened. Chickens don’t like stress and they will do whatever they can to avoid it.

What you see in the video took place in Australia. The runaway chicken was an escapee from the KFC farmhouse and she made her way over to some road workers who were putting down cement for a roadside pavement.
The workers were doing what they could to make everything look as nice as possible but the chicken wanted to undo everything that they had done. Nobody is really sure what motivated the chicken to wreak this type of havoc and it may even be a little bit of revenge from those workers, who might just have eaten some KFC for lunch.
Then again, it may just be that the chicken was lost and confused. Will go with that…
The worker who was filming the footage explained it in the following way:
“We were working away in a busy suburban area when I look up to find a nothing but a chicken walking through all our freshly paved work. We bullfloated the concrete and chicken got distracted by the yellow star picket caps and pecked at them for the rest of the job. Around 3 he disappeared into someone’s front yard.”
They thought that they had seen the last of this rogue chicken but the next morning, she was back to do more damage on the pavement. They tried to stop her by putting ‘caps everywhere, all over the dry concrete, and she was off’.
Maybe it is going a little too far to think that the chicken may have an ulterior motive. Then again, it may be that the chicken just wanted to go viral online and thanks to this unique and hilarious video, she has gained a lot of Internet fame.
