Crowd Goes Wild As Trombone Players Pull Off Risky Routine

There’s nothing quite like going to a high school football game. Of course, any football game is going to be enjoyable but when you see the excitement that seems to ripple through the stands because of the students rooting for their team, it can be very contagious. In addition, the music is played by the high school marching band is typically spirited and can really get you tapping your feet.

There are high school marching bands and there are those that go above and beyond. The trombone “suicide routine” from China Spring High School in Texas is one that you absolutely have to see. The trombone suicide is a term that was coined by the marching bands to explain the alternating pattern that the horns make for a precise beat. Every member needs to pay attention and to duck in turn or they could get clobbered with the trombone next to them. That is the reason the trombone slides are taped so they don’t shift during the movement.

It’s obvious that this high school marching band has worked very hard for the choreography. They line up and they are ready to do something for their fellow students and the parents in the stands that is going to be remembered for a very long time. The drum line begins playing and the anticipation is growing but soon, the trombone players take the field.

When they start swinging the oversized instruments, it is wild but it is very precise. The crowd, however, is cheering wildly and it is exactly what the trombonists were hoping for. Some schools are banning this particular trombone move but when it is performed properly, there is nothing quite like it.
