We have sometimes heard of dogs doing rather amazing things, but there are times when we hear specific examples and it is extraordinary. Dogs seem to have the ability to size up a situation instantly and, at times, they can use their senses to determine what is actually happening around them.
There may even be instances in which a dog saves a child’s life, and they suddenly become a hero in our eyes. That was the case with Kahn, a Doberman pinscher who has a big heart. When Charlotte was only 17 months old, she was out playing in the yard with Kahn. The mother was watching as they played together. Kahn had just recently come into the family, after being rescued. He was abused by a previous owner.
Kahn and the little girl seemed to get along very well but then the dog did something that surprised everyone. They were doing fine one moment and then in the next moment, something happened that sent chills down the mother’s spine. Suddenly, he got aggressive and begin pushing Charlotte. He then reached down and grabbed her diaper, throwing her across the yard. This is perhaps one of the worst things we could imagine, but don’t judge this book by its cover. There is more to it than meets the eye.
The mother was quite frightened but then she realized what had happened. The dog saw a snake and although it seemed violent, he actually saved Charlotte’s life.
Although Charlotte was taken from the area safely, Kahn was bitten by the snake. He did recover after receiving an anti-venom shot.
If it weren’t for the actions of this brave dog, Charlotte may have been bitten by the snake instead. Kahn may be new to the family, but he is certainly a loving family member.
I think Kahn has found his forever home.
