When you have a dog in your family, they are more than a pet that curls up at your feet or perhaps barks when somebody rings the doorbell. For many of us, the dogs are full-fledged members of the family and we will do anything we can to make sure that they are cared for. In the end, we realize that dogs are going to give more to us than what we could ever hope to give to them. They provide us with unconditional love and it doesn’t matter if we are having a good day or a bad day, they are going to be there for us with their tail wagging when we walk through the door. We all experience this when we have a pet in our life, but sometimes dogs go even further.
If you have any doubt as to how far a dog is willing to go to care for us, I’d like to introduce you to Buckwheat and Nala. These dogs belong to a family in Florida but they are more than just pets, they have become the caretakers for the youngest members of the family. The Sheriff’s Department in Walton County posted something on Facebook and showed that they are absolutely amazed at what these dogs are willing to do. You see, a young boy got lost because he had wandered off but the dogs were very quick to lend a helping hand. It’s a beautiful tribute, not only to these dogs but also to dogs in general.
When the little boy wandered off, he ended up an entire mile from home. Even though he was only a little toddler, he managed to find himself that far away. Fortunately, a neighbor saw him and gave a helping hand to get the toddler back to his family. The little boy was dirty after having wandered through the woods, but the dogs were there to protect him and they stayed with him until he was found.
When we need a friend, our dogs are there to care for us. This little toddler has his life to thank for the dogs. Not only did he have a little adventure, but he was also healthy and happy after being found. It’s amazing what dogs can do and we can see why they are considered to be man’s best friend.
