There’s nothing that brings joy to our lives quite like puppies. An energetic, tail-wagging pup can melt any heart. In fact, did you know there are programs in some prisons in which inmates are allowed to care for puppies? This is a true testament to the transformative power these sweet baby animals can have on even the most hardened hearts! However, it turns out that humans are not the only creatures who can fall in love with adorable puppies. Recently, a two-week-old black-white puppy named Saru was kidnapped by a monkey and carried to the top of an electric post.
The incident took place in Taman Lestari Putra, Malaysia and residents soon noticed the hostage situation and gathered under the pole to best assess how they could rescue the puppy.
Cherry Lew Lee, one of the onlookers, said:
Cherry, along with her neighbors, tried to rescue Saru on three occasions. However, the monkey would simply carry the puppy using the electric lines into the trees.
Eventually, the residents could rescue Saru by throwing objects at the monkey to scare it off. The monkey dropped Saru in the bushes below and retreated into the trees. Cherry and her neighbors quickly moved in and got Saru before the monkey came back.
Thankfully, the puppy wasn’t injured.
