Most of us are familiar with animals and we may even have a pet that we call our own. For the most part, it is going to be a dog or cat or if we are really exotic, it could be a rabbit or perhaps even a hamster. Regardless, if it is a domesticated animal, we will absolutely love having them around. In fact, once we have such a pet in our lives, we couldn’t imagine living life without them.
Mark Dumas may have felt very similar. He is an animal trainer and when he was working for a movie, he was asked to go get a polar bear to be photographed. It didn’t take long before he heard about a young, female, who was in a very difficult situation. The baby bear was named Agee and she was born to a polar bear mother who already had 11 cubs. Quite simply, there were too many little ones to take care of so Mark knew that this baby polar bear needed a happy home.
Dumas was no stranger to interacting with animals. He had done so many times in the past for a variety of films but what he got with this little bear was something completely unexpected. Unlike all the other animals that he had photographed or videoed before, he fell absolutely in love with Agee. He knew that this pet needed him to survive so he did the right thing and raised the bear cub with his own hands.
In the end, it was something that Mark would not regret. Since adopting Agee 18 years ago, they have only grown closer over time. Now it was time for them to be captured on video together and although it had been two decades, the bear still gets emotional when she is around him. It brings a tear to your eye when you see the bond that has developed over the years. In fact, you can see it for yourself in this touching video:
