Man Sets His GPS And Drives His Car Right Into The River

Many people would consider our world to be technologically advanced but from time to time, we get a glimpse into just how difficult things are at this point in time. It seems as if we have almost everything we could possibly want at our fingertips and within a moments notice, we can get information from anywhere in the world delivered directly to the palm of our hand.

One piece of technology that many people use on a regular basis is GPS, the Global positioning system. Satellites in orbit send signals to our electronic devices and let us know exactly where we are. We then use the Internet to find information about where we want to go and it coordinates to give us step-by-step instructions. With something this convenient, how could something possibly go wrong?

As many of us have come to realize, the more technologically advanced society gets, the more likely problems are going to occur. That is also true as far as our GPS is concerned and sometimes, there is nothing wrong with going old school. After all, do we really need to set the GPS to give us step-by-step instructions to go to our parents house? Many people do it, and it seems as if we are getting hooked on this device. At times, there may even be something funny that comes out of it all and I think that this particular news story is in that list.

According to the driver, he set the GPS and was only following instructions when he ended up in somewhat of a pickle. Yes, he did exactly what the GPS told him to do but he didn’t stop himself short of actually driving out into the middle of a river.

It took half a day to pull his car out of the water with a bulldozer and truck

People were obviously amused

AirHeadFaith: “Even if you blame Baidu Maps, you can’t save the driver’s IQ…driving towards the water is just…I have no words.”

LuoLiTaLL: “If you can’t drive, fly! Doesn’t your car have that function?”

Kaka_Long: “With an IQ like this, just say goodbye to your car.”
