In 2021, actor Vin Diesel celebrated what had to have felt like a bitter-sweet personal milestone when he had the distinct honor of walking Meadow, the daughter of his late Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker, down the aisle.

The ceremony was held in the Dominican Republic, where Meadow married her sweetheart, Louis Thronton-Allan. Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were very close friends both on and off the movie set, which was why Walker asked his co-star to be Meadow’s godfather should anything happen to him.[1]

Paul and Diesel starred in five action-packed Fast & Furious blockbusters together before Paul met a tragic end in November 2013.

The actor was killed in a car crash as he was a passenger in a Porsche that lost control and hit a lamppost, bursting into flames. Both Paul and driver Roger Rodas died at the scene.

After her dad’s death, Diesel would become a big part of Meadow’s life.

During an interview, the actor told Extra[2] how his goddaughter “takes good care of him.”
“She’s the first person on Father’s Day to wish me Happy Father’s Day,” he said. “To see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things. There are moments when I see her playing with [his 6-year-old daughter] Pauline and it hits me so deep ’cause I can only imagine what my brother sees when he sees that.”

He added, “I feel very protective. It goes beyond the movie.”

Meadow also referred to Diesel’s daughter Hinina Sinclair as her “angel” and said she thinks of Diesel as “family.”

Meadow shared a heartwarming picture on Instagram which featured the tender moment when Vin Diesel, decked in a light powder blue suit and sunglasses, proudly took his goddaughter’s arm and walked her toward her future husband. In the image, Meadow is all smiles beneath her sheer veil while she holds a bouquet of flowers in on hand as her other arm is linked with Diesel’s. Meadow captioned her post: “ayooooo.”

Vin Diesel wasn’t the only Fast & Furious cast member in attendance that day. Jordana Brewster was also on hand to witness the beautiful ceremony.
“We couldn’t have imagined it to be any more perfect and personal—and honestly it was easy and simple. Louis and I knew exactly what we wanted from the start,” Meadow told Vogue[3] of her and Thornton-Allan’s special day. “It was a very intimate celebration.”
