We sometimes hear about people that are heroes. Perhaps our first thought is about first responders, such as firemen, who rush into a building to save lives. We might also think about others who are heroes, including some who may even work in our community. Every once in a while, however, we hear about somebody who becomes a hero for all the right reasons. That is sure to be how you feel about the six-year-old boy from Cheyenne, Wyoming named Bridger. He may be young, but he has already proven himself to be one of the most amazing people we have heard about in quite some time.
Bridger Walker loves his younger sister. Sure, they have their complications from time to time as any brother and sister do but he would be willing to walk on fire to help her. As you can see in the pictures below, they were doing quite fine and they even looked happy to be close to each other. What happened, however, was beyond anything that we could even think of. As a dog was attacking his sister, Bridger threw himself in between the two of them and protected her. Unfortunately, he was seriously hurt while doing it.
Nicole, Bridger’s aunt wanted everyone to know about what her nephew had done. She posted pictures on her Instagram account and they ended up going viral for all the right reasons. She said: “My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, ‘If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.’ He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”
As you can see from the pictures, Bridger had quite a difficulty. He ended up with 90 stitches in his face, but he is finally home resting and doing better. Nicole continued to update the Internet about her nephew, even mentioning how the dog’s owners were being kind to Bridger and his family.
As the story continued to spread online, many famous individuals chimed in to share the story and to let this little boy know that he was certainly a hero. He also ended up with people doing fanart, which was an amazing thing to see. One thing is certain, this little boy is going places and I’m sure that he and his sister will be close from this moment on.
