Many of us grew up watching the same television show and we may have watched it for years. We got accustomed to seeing the people that were on the show every day and we may even have considered them to be close friends. After all, we often knew more about the people on those television shows than we knew about some of the members of our own family. Many of their shows have come and gone but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything that we can learn about the people who were on them. That includes one of the most popular shows of all time, Little House on the Prairie.
Although there were a lot of stellar celebrities that played on the show, one of the ones that stand out for most of us is Melissa Gilbert. Along with the rest of the characters that played the Ingalls family, they made up a show that was so wholesome you couldn’t help but fall in love with it. It started in 1974, but the show itself was set in the late 1800s. Many different topics are covered in the show, but what meant the most to us was the wholesome, family life that they all enjoyed.
Melissa Gilbert recently gave an interview and it’s nice to know that she is still doing well, all these years later. She was the one that played Laura Ingalls on the show and she talks about that part of her life, saying it was like going to a summer camp and she got to play the ultimate game of dress-up. In fact, she imagines that it was never anything but fun.
In addition, Gilbert talks about her father on the show, and how he was more than a father figure, he was a very kindhearted individual. She also talks about how we need to escape to those simpler times, especially now that we have been going through this pandemic and it is weighing heavy on all of us. It’s just a nice look back, and one that we appreciate.
